The dam is Located on the Kashkan River, in the Gavshomar Gorge,
90 kilometers northwest of Khorramabad, south of Ganj Dareh village.
Situated on the southwestern slopes of the folded Zagros Mountains,
northeast of Kohdasht County, on the Noorabad-Kohdasht road.
